| The City and County of Denver, Department of Environmental Health, is seeking a Program Manager to implement, administer, and develop health promotion program strategies and provide technical expertise to program staff, City agencies, external stakeholders, and the Denver community. This position will be responsible for leading the Denver Healthy People program. Denver Healthy People is a community-wide partnership dedicated to making Denver a healthy place for all by increasing the quality and years of healthy life and eliminating health disparities.

| Job Responsibilities: |
| Responsibilities include initiating, managing and developing productive health related networks; producing reports, initiate task forces, coalitions, and collaborations. Developing health promotion programs, including designing and conducting needs assessments, public health methodologies, population-based evaluation, public relations, communications, and social marketing. Strong foundation in both public health and environmental health is required. Experience dealing with diverse communities and having a strong knowledge in concepts about health in the built environment are a plus. Writing and managing grants. Ability to multi-task is essential to the success of the program. This position will also supervise program staff.

| Qualifications: |
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Policy/Science, Public Administration, Management, or a related field and three years of professional level experience in health promotion, including, partnership development and organizing the administrative aspects of the program(s) and/or training program participants and/or volunteers regarding health promotion activities.
A Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in health promotion is highly desired. Experience managing professional staff a plus. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Public Health Environmental Policy/Science, Public Administration, Management, or a related field and five years of professional level experience in health promotion, including, partnership development and organizing the administrative aspects of a program(s) or training program participants and/or volunteers regarding health promotion activities.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST for Pitkin County’s Environmental Health & Natural Resources Department. Position conducts site inspections of restaurants, schools and other facilities for compliance with public health regulations and addresses non-compliance issues. The Environmental Health Specialist is also responsible for issuance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment System permits and conducting related site inspections. The position responds to inquiries and complaints pertaining to retail food service requirements, Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems, noise, fugitive dust, insect-borne diseases, and other public environmental health concerns. The successful applicant must be proficient in MS Office, able to read basic site plans/building plans, have knowledge of food safety practices/regulations, basic epidemiology and disease investigation, soils, and ground and surface water hydrology. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. The ability to ski or snowboard is desirable for performance of on-mountain winter inspections. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or a related field is required (or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job). EPR Planner - Tri County Health
Duties: Performs public health response planning work in the planning, design and implementation of public health preparedness activities and programs. Roles include working with local, regional and state partners; along with working with hospitals, healthcare and community partners. Position also includes volunteer management, special needs planning and promoting educational activities. Works independently and may assume lead responsibilities in the planning and evaluation of public health preparedness activities.
Education: Requires a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public health, emergency management or a related field and 2-3 years relevant work experience.
Special Qualification: Knowledge / experience related to public health and homeland security planning and exercise design/evaluation, incident command system, domestic preparedness and biologic agents is preferred. Valid Drivers License and your own vehicle for on the job transportation. Mileage reimbursement provided.
